We will continue to add photos of our herd and make improvements to the site. Take a look around. We have many photos. Check back often for new photos and more about our farm as we continue to add to the site.
Why Choose myotonic goats

Myotonic Goats are a meat goat that happen to have a unique trait of stiffening when startled or excited. This trait contributes to an increase in muscle mass and tenderness of the meat. It also allows me to catch one out of the herd if it requires attention instead of gathering up the herd and sorting them just to get to one. I only get one chance at it. If the goat gets away, it will not stiffen again until it is unsuspecting later in the day or the following day.
Myotonic Goats are easy on fences. If there is a hole in a fence they will find it but they are not fence climbers. They do not jump very high compared to other breeds.
Myotonic Goats are proven to be one of the most parasite resistant in university studies. This does not mean they are immune to parasites. They are still susceptible to parasites though they can tolerate a high parasite load. Proper management and attention to stocking rates are still required to keep the herd healthy.
Myotonic doe reproductive efficiency is excellent and they have great mothering instincts.
Myotonic Goats were listed on the American Livestock Breed Conservancy as rare with a estimated world population of less than 10,000 before recently being listed as recovering. Within a US goat population of 2.2 million, the Myotonic Goat has room to grow.
